The people building Vayo

Vayo began with a personal experience. After his wife was diagnosed with stage III multiple myeloma in March 2022, CEO Amin Katouzian realized life doesn't stop for a diagnosis — he still had to support her treatment, raise their 8-year-old son, and keep up with a full-time job, all at the same time.

That experience sent him searching for answers, and his research kept surfacing the same root cause: social determinants of health — the everyday barriers to housing, transportation, childcare, and support that shape outcomes for patients with chronic disease, veterans, and caregivers alike. He saw how much harder that challenge becomes for single parents, or anyone stretched financially, trying to support a loved one — or get through it on their own. It wasn't a lack of available support; it was a fragmented system that made that support nearly impossible to find and qualify for. Drawing on his background in AI and healthcare technology, Amin set out to fix that fragmentation, founding Vayo in 2024 with a team of healthcare and technology leaders.

Vayo's mission traces directly back to that moment: to make sure no one has to face treatment, or caregiving, alone — by connecting patients and families to the community, service provider, and nonprofit resources already there to support them.
